Cafe Soleil
Owner: Mohamed Aziam
Manager: Abdul Atif Bouchar
History: Started by Hajj Mohamed in 1972 as a café
with a few rooms for rent. The restaurant was added later to the cater
for tourist passing through. Hajj Mohamed started a rota to provide a
basis for organising muleteers. This was one of the first established
sites in Imlil. However, in 1995 the infamous flood destroyed half of
the building, fortunately with no loss of life . All of their gear and
a lot of money was lost. In 1997 the process of rebuilding began
which is due to finish in January 2008 with the opening of the final
wing. Café Soleil is well known for it's food, and the ability to cater for large numbers of people.
